Tales of EUkraine's mission to distribute bilingual children's books to Ukrainian displaced children has never been limited to the project partner's countries. After
Greece, where several thousand books have already been distributed in the previous months, three more countries will benefit from the project:
Belgium,
France and the
Netherlands. At the same time, Ukrainian children in
Italy will also receive thousands of new books!
This has been possible thanks to an international cooperation between Tales of EUkraine, the Ukrainian Publishing House Old Lion, and the Ukrainian printing facility Unisoft. TEUk and Old Lion coordinated for the production of bilingual versions in Ukrainian-French, Ukrainian-Italian, and Ukrainian-Dutch of five titles:
- Fogi (original title: Фоґі);
- The Story Told by Zhuka (original title: Історія, яку розповіла Жука);
- A Ghost who couldn’t fall Asleep (original title: Привид, який не міг заснути);
- My Secret Superpower (original title: Потаємна суперсила);
- Yakiv and the Wet Evening (original title: Яків і мокрий вечір)
In total, 88,400 books have already been printed and are on their way to reach distribution centres in all the involved countries!
We have anticipated this news at
our event at the Frankfurt Book Fair, but now that the printing phase is over, you can have a sneak peek at the five titles below, just before they leave the printing house. We will tell you more once the books reach their destinations and start being distributed. In the meantime, keep following our updates!
