Save the Date - Tales of EUkraine event at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025

Tales of EUkraine will be back at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2025. The project, which aims to distribute bilingual children's books in Ukrainian and other European languages to Ukrainian children displaced in Europe, will return to the world's largest trade book fair to showcase the results obtained by European publishers in support of their Ukrainian counterparts and Ukrainian children throughout Europe.

See you on Wednesday, 15 October, from 15:00 to 16:00 at the Ukrainian Collective Stand (Hall 4.1, F79/80) for our event: Tales of EUkraine: Every Child Deserves their Own Story. Once again, TEUk will be hosted by our colleagues from the Ukrainian Book Institute.

Speakers

  • Alessandra Luchetti, Deputy Director of the European Education & Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), Head of Department B: Creativity, Citizens, EU values & Joint Operations
  • Enrico Turrin, Deputy Director of the Federation of European Publishers, Coordinator of Tales of EUkraine
  • André Störr, Publisher of Friedrich Mauke Verlag
  • Artem Oberemok, Unisoft, Ukrainian printer

  • Dr. Viktoriia von Rosen, PhD, Chairwoman Ukrainian Coordination Center e.V., Frankfurt/M.
  • Olena Odynoka, Deputy Director for International Cooperation of the Ukrainian Book Institute, partner of Tales of EUkraine

Thanks to the commitment of all project partners and of dozens of European publishers, the project has been able to publish and distribute over 200,000 books. This year, we are proud to have speakers from the whole chain responsible for bringing books to Ukrainian children: the Commission, which financed the project; FEP and UBI, respectively project coordinator and project partner; one of the publishers who chose to join the project; a Ukrainian printer and a German distributor, ultimately responsible for printing the books and distributing them to the points where they were collected by children.

Save the date on your agenda, and join us to show solidarity to Ukrainian publishers!

About Tales of EUkraine

About the project Tales of EUkraine (TEUk) is an opportunity for European publishers to support their Ukrainian counterparts and to display their solidarity to the most vulnerable victims of the conflict by doing what they do best: publishing books. This project will bring together European and Ukrainian publishers to deliver bilingual children’s books to several communities hosting Ukrainian refugees, fostering integration and mutual understanding. TEUk has built a catalogue of Ukrainian children’s books available for publishers to acquire the rights to and publish them in bilingual editions. The project partners will purchase the part of the print run to be distributed to displaced children and organise its distribution to the Ukrainian refugee communities, whilst publishers will be invited to promote the book to their national communities. TEUk will facilitate the integration of Ukrainian children in their host countries, increase the knowledge of Ukrainian culture across the ...

Tales of EUkraine's mission to distribute bilingual children's books to Ukrainian displaced children has never been limited to the project partner's countries. After Greece , where several thousand books have already been distributed in the previous months, three more countries will benefit from the project: Belgium , France and the Netherlands .
